WHAT: Place-based learning on the beautiful Iveragh Peninsula in South Kerry
Iveragh Learning Landscapes is a weekend of talks, walks and workshops encompassing local natural and built heritage, outdoor education, land stewardship and well-being. Based in the beautiful Iveragh peninsula between the villages of Waterville and Caherdaniel, workshops will take place both indoors and outdoors in various venues in some of the most spectacular locations in Ireland, including Derrynane National Park and Lough Currane in Waterville.
Workshop topics range from coastal habitats, seaweed cooking, composting and reducing food waste, designing spaces for biodiversity, herbal medicine, guided art classes, ocean literacy and how to use the outdoors as an educational tool. Guided walks and other events include visits to local rock art sites, a trip to church island & Stand Up Paddle (SUP) and Kayaking on Lough Currane (small add. fee), outdoor yoga and a Dark skies evening event.
